Children, Youth and Families in ECK
Welcome to the Youth and Family page of ECKANKAR Australia.
The youth program provides a way for children and young people to find their feet spiritually; meet other young people who are spiritually-minded; and to discover themselves as Soul, a spark of God.
The teachings of ECK can provide children and youth with answers to questions they have about life, relationships, making choices, understanding their dreams and spiritual responsibility.
Eckankar provides the following services and materials for Youth and Families:
• ECK Satsangs (Classes)
• ECK Seminars
• Books and other study materials
• Rite of Passage
The youth program can also provide spiritual support for parents. Parents can attend events, learn from the ECK writings and enjoy fellowship with other parents and families. Each area has specific events and a Youth and Family Coordinator who supports the development of the youth program.
ECK Satsangs are classes held by ECKANKAR and usually focus on the study of a discourse or ECK book. Usually they are held once a month in an ECK Centre or local area. Each class is facilitated by an Arahata, or teacher in ECK. There are specific Satsangs for children and youth. See the Events Calendar for local classes or contact the Youth and Family Coordinator in your area if you are interested in starting a class.
Each year at the ECK Australian Seminar there is a Children's Youth and Young Adults program. These programs are designed to meet the spiritual needs of young people in the following age categories:
• Children (5-12 years)
• Youth (13-18 years)
• Young Adults (18-30 years)
Many young people around Australia gather for this event. Each ECK Australian Seminar is followed by a Youth and Family Camp out. This is a four-day spiritual retreat for children, youth and families who are members of Eckankar. This event is a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship.
There are also Children and Youth programs at the Major Seminars held in Minnesota each year. See the Main ECKANKAR web site for more information on these.
